Long Boots For Bigger Legs
By admin • Nov 15th, 2008 • Category: ArticlesI will never forget the pure embarrassment I felt, as, red faced, sweaty, and quite desperately, I tried in vain to zip up a long boot around my leg, in what felt like a busy shop full of people, all looking at me, knowing I couldn’t get a pair of boots done up.
When you try clothes on in a shop, it can be disappointing, and disheartening if they don’t fit, but at least you face that alone, and unobserved in a little changing room. If a pair of boots don’t fit, you’re on display for everyone to see, and it feels that everyone within a hundred mile radius is looking on knowing that you can’t do your boots up, and seeing your face change to the colour of a tomato as you try.
In the end, after trying on several pairs, in the same unsuccessful way, I gave up. This wasn’t the first shop it had happened in, I’d repeated to same demoralising routine in every shop I’d been in that day. So I decided that my fat legs should take me home, and on the way wondered to myself why you had to have twig legs to wear long boots, My legs are not twigs, but they’re not tree trunks either.
Well that was a few years ago now, and an experience that I’m very happy to say I never intend to repeat. From talking to a lot of people over the years, I’ve realised I’m most certainly not alone in this experience, and have talked to so many women who have had that same red faced, embarrassing experience as me.
I have to say the reason I’m so positive I won’t go through that again is because I found Evans boots, which are wider in the foot, ankle, and calf. The feeling of joy as I zipped a pair of black leather boots straight up my leg with no tugging, no red face was just quite overwhelming.
Overwhelming joy may seem a bit of an overly emotional way to describe how you feel at finding a pair of boots that fit, but I’m sure anyone who’s had the same experience will share my sentiment. The only problem was, I ended up spending a lot more than I intended, not on the boots, but of course, I had to have some new skirts to show them off! Most definitly the best days retail therapy I’ve ever had.
You can take a look at my favorite wide fitting long boots, or click on the links below to see the full ranges of wider fitting boots offered by the stores. If you do find your perfect pair of boots, don’t forget to check the Discounts and Special Offers page, to see if you can save some money. If you’ve had a similar experience, or have found a good retailer that stock wide fitting boots, please post a comment, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
